Real Estate Lawyer (Full-time, Lagos)

About the role

We are seeking a Real Estate Lawyer to draft routine deeds of assignment and contracts of sale, monitor legal risk in real estate documentation, and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for property transactions. The role also involves representing the company in purchases and sales of properties and supporting advisory needs for a large-scale real estate portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Draft routine deed of assignment and contract of sales, print, spiral bind, seal and sign.
• Monitor legal risk in real estate documentation and advise the company accordingly.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for real estate transactions.
• Draft and negotiate real estate transactions, routine leases and amendments.
• Ensure appropriate approvals are in place before transactions are executed.
• Manage regulatory and compliance-related services.
• Represent the company in purchases and sales of properties.
• Defend state code litigation and support general advisory needs for a large-scale real estate portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• 3+ years of experience in real estate law, including litigation, lease transactions, property management, and purchase and sale transactions.
• Solid experience in title insurance underwriting, curative, and claims.
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
• Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Capable networker with excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
