Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Monas Consulting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for real‑estate development and construction projects in Abuja. You will be responsible for delivering accurate cost estimates, valuations and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, budgets and cost‑control reports.
• Conduct cost planning, value engineering and financial monitoring from inception to completion.
• Measure completed works, produce interim and final valuations, variation assessments and payment certificates.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to ensure accurate measurement and pricing.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support procurement and tendering, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of quotations.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project managers and internal teams to ensure effective cost delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, measurements, contracts and commercial documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in real‑estate development and construction.
• Proven experience on residential, commercial or estate development projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo or similar ERP systems for project monitoring and reporting.
• Experience using CostX for cost estimation and measurement.
• Experience using PlanSwift for quantity take‑off.
