Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

The Olufunke Giwa Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to lead and maintain its Quality Management System across construction projects. You will ensure that all work meets the required standards, specifications, and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the organisation’s Quality Management System, including standards, procedures, checklists and inspection protocols.
• Monitor process quality and compliance through workflow reviews, quality checkpoints, periodic audits and SOP adherence.
• Conduct project and site inspections at defined stages, verifying workmanship, materials, measurements and finishes against drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Project teams to monitor vendor and material quality, document issues and contribute to vendor performance evaluations.
• Manage non‑conformities and corrective actions via a defect register, root‑cause analysis and tracking to closure.
• Work with process owners to improve SOPs, strengthen controls and document lessons learned.
• Ensure quality at client delivery and handover by performing final inspections, resolving defects and handling client complaints.
• Prepare periodic quality assurance reports covering inspections, compliance, defects, corrective actions and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Quality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, project delivery or a related construction environment.
• Proven experience conducting inspections, managing non‑conformities and working with project documentation.
• Experience in design/build, construction or project‑based organisations is strongly preferred.
