Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Quality Assurance Officer to join The Padana Services in Abuja. The role will ensure that all design and construction deliverables meet the company’s high standards of quality, safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specifications and project documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance before issuance.
• Cross‑check construction drawings against approved design intent to identify discrepancies early.
• Maintain a quality checklist/framework for design deliverables at each project milestone.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify that works, materials and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications and building codes.
• Prepare and maintain snag lists, tracking defects through to close‑out with contractors and site teams.
• Verify that delivered materials match approved specifications before use.
• Flag quality, design or workmanship risks early and escalate significant issues to the COO/Project Manager.
• Support development and enforcement of SOPs for design review, site inspection and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian building codes, regulatory requirements and company HSE standards.
• Prepare regular QA reports for the COO and maintain accurate records of inspections, audits and corrective actions.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance/control, site supervision or architectural/engineering practice within the construction sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Technology or related field.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Construction Management, Quality Management or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and documentation practices.
• Familiarity with design and project management software.
