Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

Waz is building verification infrastructure for physical commerce in emerging markets. As a full‑time Quality Assurance Engineer you will own the quality of the entire platform, from the web dashboard and mobile app to WhatsApp integration, payment flows and backend APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write and maintain test cases for web, mobile and API features.
• Build and maintain automated test suites that run on every deployment.
• Own end‑to‑end testing of core procurement workflows (PO creation, GRN capture, invoice matching, payment execution, variance detection).
• Stress‑test payment flows before each release and sign off on any changes that affect money movement.
• Test WhatsApp integration flows, including edge cases in informal message formats.
• Perform regression testing each sprint to ensure existing functionality remains stable.
• Collaborate with engineers to reproduce and document bugs with precise steps.
• Maintain a living defect log with severity classification and resolution tracking.
• Validate audit logs for fraud‑detection compliance.
• Participate in sprint planning to flag testing dependencies and estimate QA effort.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of QA experience on production software.
• Experience testing fintech, payments or enterprise SaaS products.
• Strong understanding of REST API testing.
• Comfortable working in fast‑moving sprint cycles without sacrificing thoroughness.
• Exceptional written communication and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Postman for API testing.
• Automated testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Detox or Appium.
• SQL proficiency for direct database verification.
• Android mobile testing, especially in low‑connectivity environments.
