Quality Assurance Analyst

About the role

This Quality Assurance Analyst position covers the laboratory and all processing areas of a food and beverage factory. The role leads quality, food safety, GMP and GLP compliance, lab analysis and process improvement, and works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Shift Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all processing areas and the laboratory sanitary, and carry out internal calibration of equipment during the shift
• Track periodic achievement of quality and food safety objectives and ensure proper documentation of activities, reports and communications
• Lead the use and efficiency of laboratory reagents and consumables, and lead data integrity of all analyses and tests
• Lead compliance with GMP, GLP, 5S, HACCP and other quality, food safety, occupational health, safety and environment tools and policies
• Lead process improvement, shelf-life stability studies and validation, and document deviations, testing protocols and trend analyses
• Handle competition analysis, product insight, and non-conforming and potentially unsafe raw, pack and finished products
• Reduce non-quality costs such as complaints, market returns and supplier non-conformances
• Responsible for all lab analysis of water, raw, pack and finished goods, and for recipe compliance and blending plans
• Support process and operations improvement projects and lead quality and food safety improvement initiatives

Required profile

• HND/BSc in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology or equivalent; a relevant professional certification is a plus
• 2-5 years of progressive experience in culinary, food or beverage processing
• Analytical, detail-oriented, with excellent relationship skills
