Project Engineer

About the role

Stretford Hill Limited is seeking a Project Engineer to lead civil construction projects in Abuja. The role involves managing all phases from planning through execution while ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, and budget.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and obtain necessary permits.
• Prepare engineering drawings and specifications using industry‑standard software.
• Perform structural and geotechnical analyses and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Monitor and supervise construction activities, inspect work quality, and resolve on‑site issues.
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement safety measures, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Integrate sustainable design principles and assess environmental and social impacts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices, standards, and relevant regulations (COREN, NSE).
