About the role

The American University of Nigeria seeks a senior academic leader to serve as Professor and Dean of its School of Law. The Dean will be the chief academic and administrative officer, guiding faculty, staff, and students toward excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for academic operations, curriculum development, and strategic planning.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and fiscal management for the school.
• Lead accreditation processes, program reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Represent the School internally and externally to stakeholders, professional bodies, and partners.
• Supervise faculty recruitment, promotion, tenure decisions, and staff performance.
• Facilitate conflict resolution among students, faculty, and staff and ensure academic integrity.

Required profile

• Terminal degree in law from a reputable university.
• Minimum ten years of teaching and research experience at a recognized university.
• At least seven years in academic leadership positions.
• Verified record of scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
• Proficiency with ICT tools and e‑resources for teaching and research.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and ethical standards.
