Procurement Officer

About the role

The Padana Services is seeking a Procurement Officer to support its construction projects in Abuja. You will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project schedules while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and maintain a reliable database of suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
• Source competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct supplier due‑diligence and periodic performance reviews.
• Process purchase requisitions, raise and track purchase orders, and verify deliveries against Bills of Quantities and specifications.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and forecast material requirements with site leads.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, budget limits, and ethical sourcing standards.
• Track procurement spend, flag variances, and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Liaise with Finance for timely supplier payments and accurate cost allocation.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, quantity surveying, or materials sourcing within construction or related built‑environment sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Post‑graduate qualification or professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• Membership (or student membership) of NIQS, CIPS, or an equivalent professional body.
