About the role
A primary school mathematics teacher is needed in Lagos to teach students in their early years of schooling. The teacher will foster a supportive, dynamic learning atmosphere that builds numeracy skills, confidence in problem solving and a solid foundation in mathematical concepts.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver interactive mathematics lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Develop lesson plans, instructional resources and assessment tools for young learners
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through classwork, projects and formal examinations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour and academic achievements
- Create a secure, inclusive classroom and adapt teaching to each student's needs
- Promote critical thinking, logical reasoning and communication skills
- Manage behaviour positively and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Take part in school meetings, professional development, extracurricular activities and community events
- Support students' academic, emotional and social well-being and follow school policies and child protection protocols
