Portfolio Growth Officer

About the role

FairMoney is seeking a motivated Portfolio Growth Officer to reactivate inactive merchant accounts and unlock unused credit capacity, turning them into a revenue‑generating portfolio. The role blends relationship management, field sales, and portfolio oversight to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage zero‑utilised, dormant, suspended and under‑utilised merchants as the primary relationship manager.
• Diagnose inactivity by reviewing business conditions, financing needs, usage patterns and repayment history.
• Prioritise viable merchants and execute reactivation plans that generate first drawdown, repeat usage and sustainable utilisation.
• Conduct field visits to verify businesses, rebuild relationships and resolve physical‑intervention issues.
• Coordinate with Retention, Operations, Credit and Risk to clear KYC, documentation and repayment blockers.
• Monitor early‑stage repayments, escalate delinquency and suspend utilisation when credit concerns arise.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in relationship management, field sales, SME lending or portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of merchant businesses, working‑capital cycles and repayment management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and objection‑handling abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using CRM systems and performance tracking tools.
