Pharmacovigilance Specialist (Remote Contract)

About the role

IntraHub Africa is seeking a Pharmacovigilance Specialist to support end‑to‑end safety surveillance across multiple African markets. This remote, contract‑based position focuses on collecting, reviewing, and processing adverse event reports while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, assess, and process adverse event reports from diverse sources.
• Enter cases promptly, perform medical coding, and conduct follow‑up activities.
• Support signal detection, evaluation, and local literature screening.
• Prepare regulatory safety documents, risk‑management materials, and periodic safety reports.
• Collaborate with pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, and clinical teams to maintain compliant SOPs and quality standards.
• Assist with regulatory intelligence monitoring, training‑material development, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month relevant experience in pharmacovigilance or related safety monitoring.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Medical coding of adverse events.
• Adverse event reporting and case processing.
• Signal detection and evaluation.
• Literature screening for safety data.
