Outbound Team Lead – Fulfillment Operations

About the role

The Outbound Team Lead oversees the pick, pack and dispatch processes at Jumia’s fulfillment centre. The role ensures efficient use of packing materials, meets outbound KPIs and leads a team of associates to ship orders accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage packing material usage and align it with dispatched orders.
• Create and maintain packaging guidelines for each product category.
• Conduct weekly cycle counts of packing materials to minimise waste.
• Coordinate same‑day delivery with the inventory team to achieve 100 % order shipment.
• Plan capacity based on weekly volume forecasts and oversee storage of packaging supplies.
• Ensure all shipping and picking deadlines and priority cut‑off times are consistently met.
• Achieve and monitor outbound KPIs, identifying recurring issues.
• Track productivity standards for each associate and enforce correct picking/packing methods.
• Control miss‑shipments and backorders, locating missing products as needed.
• Audit outbound product accuracy, investigation cases and team attendance.
• Update weekly team schedules to match expected order volume and report daily output.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience in warehousing, outbound operations or order management.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Background in quality‑assurance management (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
