Outbound Team Lead – Fulfillment Center

About the role

The Outbound Team Lead oversees the pick, pack and dispatch process at Jumia’s fulfillment centre, ensuring efficient use of packing materials, meeting outbound KPIs and shipping orders accurately and on time while leading a diverse outbound team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage packing material usage and align it with dispatched orders.
• Create and maintain packaging guidelines for each product category.
• Oversee weekly cycle counts of packing materials to minimise waste.
• Coordinate same‑day delivery with the inventory team to ensure all orders ship on time.
• Plan capacity based on weekly volume forecasts and manage storage of packaging supplies.
• Ensure shipping and picking deadlines and priority cut‑off times are consistently met.
• Monitor outbound KPIs, track productivity standards and address miss‑shipments or backorders.
• Audit outbound shipments for accuracy and ensure investigation cases meet SLA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience in warehousing, outbound operations or order management, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Background in quality‑assurance management is a plus.
• Proven ability to deploy and prioritise workforce to meet daily and same‑day shipping targets.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• NYSC certificate or valid exemption letter; based in Abuja.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet).
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail).
