National Consultant – Supply and Financing Analysis for BEP Maternal Nutrition

About the role

The UNICEF Nutrition Manager is seeking a senior consultant to lead a supply and financing landscaping analysis for Balanced Energy Protein (BEP) supplementation aimed at improving maternal nutrition in Nigeria. The assignment is home‑based with travel to Abuja and other stakeholder sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a desk review and map the nutrition‑related industry landscape.
• Engage stakeholders and private‑sector actors to collect relevant data.
• Validate findings at state and national levels with concerned authorities.
• Synthesize demand, supply and financing insights into an integrated feasibility assessment.
• Design and model financial scenarios, ROI projections and business models for BEP product development.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in nutrition, public health, economics, agricultural economics, food policy or a related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in maternal and child nutrition policy and programming.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a local language is an asset.

Required skills

• Nutrition and food security analysis in Nigeria.
• Maternal nutrition expertise, especially the first 1,000 days and BEP supplementation.
• Health system assessment.
• Financial feasibility study design and costing scenario modeling.
• ROI projection and business model evaluation.
• Stakeholder and private‑sector engagement.
