Medical Officer – High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)

About the role

We are looking for a competent, patient‑centred Medical Officer to deliver High‑Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) clinical services at our Lekki centre. The role involves assessing patients, supporting procedures, providing follow‑up care and ensuring strict compliance with clinical protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and clinical assessments to determine suitability for HIFU treatment.
• Explain HIFU procedures, benefits, risks and obtain informed consent.
• Perform or assist with HIFU procedures following approved protocols and monitor patients before, during and after treatment.
• Provide post‑procedure care, follow‑up reviews, counselling and ongoing patient support.
• Maintain full compliance with infection‑control standards, clinical guidelines and patient‑safety protocols.
• Keep accurate, confidential medical records and promptly report complications.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and equipment maintenance reporting.
• Collaborate with nurses, embryologists and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure smooth patient flow.

Required profile

• MBBS degree from a recognised institution.
• Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a current practising licence.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification clinical experience.
• Experience in gynaecology, radiology, fertility care or other procedure‑based settings is an advantage.
• Willingness to undergo specialised HIFU training (prior HIFU experience preferred).
