Manager, Switching Operations (Lagos)

About the role

A fintech company that has built a trusted payment infrastructure for consumers and businesses is hiring a Manager, Switching Operations in Lagos. The manager ensures that every transaction initiated by customers reaches its destination through the best available route among the available providers, and keeps the systems running so they can serve this purpose.

Key responsibilities

• Support payout and funds transfer processing in a timely manner.
• Monitor transactions and ensure all payment rails are functioning optimally.
• Watch for signs of fraudulent activity and escalate potential issues to the fraud team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer-related issues and handle escalations to the team lead or stakeholders within agreed SLAs.
• Work with the CX and TAM teams to investigate and resolve payout complaints through assigned channels.
• Assist with process improvement: create processes, track progress and update stakeholders.
• Carry out transaction reconciliation.
• Identify touchpoints across sub-teams and design processes that optimize them, evaluating current processes against industry best practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business or a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in switching operations, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Understanding of the payment industry.
• Open-minded, result oriented, goal oriented with minimal supervision, and accountable with strong ethics.

Required skills

• Ability to work with the Microsoft suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify errors, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
