Machine Operator – Food Manufacturing

About the role

This position is for a machine operator in food manufacturing, responsible for setting up and running production machines, keeping them clean and safe, and recording output and usage. The role covers high-speed packaging and processing equipment such as filling, cutting, monodose, theegarten packaging, pressing and wrapping, granulating, boules and blending machines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document CIP and disinfection of equipment, and keep the floor free of litter such as laminates, powders and inks.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) before each shift and check that all interlocks are working.
• Run machines at the correct parameters according to procedures, adjusting speed, weight, height, coding, perforation, sealing integrity, pressure and temperature.
• Measure raw materials accurately and feed them into the machine following proper handling and dispensing procedures.
• Maintain pasteurizing temperature and piston pump pressure within the specified range.
• Monitor production output hourly and control and report raw material usage and output, updating records.
• Keep the machine and work area clean, follow the machine cleaning SOP, and maintain good hygiene and GMP/GHP.
• Take periodic readings of machine parameters and record downtime.
• Wear the correct PPE at all times and comply with safety, health and environmental rules.

Required profile

• Qualification: OND, HND, B.Sc. or B.Tech.
• At least 2 years of proven experience as a machine operator.
• Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of current FSMS and ISO standards are advantageous.
• Ability to pay attention to details, teamwork and communication skills, and physical stamina and strength.
