Loan Officer

About the role

The Loan Officer will work on‑site in Lagos, evaluating loan applications and guiding applicants through the origination process. You will collaborate closely with underwriting and finance teams to ensure accurate credit assessments and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications, verify financial information, and assess creditworthiness.
• Conduct customer interviews, explain loan products and terms, and guide applicants through the loan process.
• Prepare and present loan recommendations to underwriting and finance teams.
• Monitor loan performance and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Provide responsive customer service, address inquiries, and help optimise lending processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support continuous improvement of the loan workflow.

Required profile

• Strong loan origination experience with end‑to‑end lending processes.
• Solid finance knowledge, including credit analysis and risk assessment.
• Underwriting skills to review documentation and evaluate credit profiles.
• Excellent customer service abilities with clear communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field and prior experience in banking, micro‑finance or fintech lending.
