Junior Chef

About the role

SuyaBranch is seeking a professionally trained Junior Chef to join its kitchen team in Ajah, Lagos. The role involves preparing dishes to the restaurant’s standards while maintaining high hygiene and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to SuyaBranch recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, portion size, quality, and presentation.
• Handle food preparation, mise en place, and maintain a clean, organised workstation.
• Follow food storage, preservation, labeling, and handling procedures while minimising waste.
• Assist in improving existing dishes and testing new menu items.
• Monitor ingredient usage during shifts and report low stock.
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen, bar, and service staff and adhere to established procedures.

Required profile

• Formal culinary training from a recognised culinary school or hospitality institution.
• Practical cooking experience in a restaurant, lounge, hotel, or similar environment (preferred).
• Good knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and contemporary food preparation.
• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Reliable, disciplined, organised, and willing to learn.
• Preference for candidates living around Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, Sangotedo, Badore, Ogombo, or nearby areas.
