Human Resources and Compliance Manager

About the role

The Human Resources and Compliance Manager will lead the recruitment, deployment and welfare of Drivecare’s driver workforce while ensuring strict adherence to local labour and transport regulations. This role sits at the intersection of HR, compliance and logistics, supporting both internal staff and outsourced professional drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for internal staff and the outsourced driver roster, matching drivers to client locations based on proximity, skill set and vehicle requirements.
• Design and implement retention, engagement and welfare programmes tailored to a high‑volume, blue‑collar driver base.
• Maintain compliance with Nigerian labour laws, state transport regulations and statutory requirements such as LASDRI and LASRRA.
• Oversee driver verification processes, including background checks, double‑guarantor validation, address verification and psychometric screening.
• Conduct regular audits of driver documentation, fleet insurance and compliance files to mitigate liability risks.
• Establish disciplinary frameworks, code‑of‑conduct guidelines and service quality standards; act as escalation point for client feedback and driver grievances.
• Define, monitor and report KPIs for driver performance, punctuality, safety and client satisfaction.
• Deliver onboarding, defensive‑driving and customer‑service training; coordinate refresher workshops and compliance renewals.
• Support payroll by maintaining accurate deployment rosters, attendance logs and billable service data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR, recruitment or compliance within a logistics or transport environment.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour and transport regulations.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume recruitment and driver verification processes.
• Excellent organisational and analytical skills with a focus on risk mitigation.
