HR Officer

About the role

The Olufunke Giwa Company is seeking an HR Officer to lead its people processes. You will work closely with the CEO and supervisors to ensure recruitment, performance management, learning and employee relations are effectively coordinated across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment, selection, onboarding, induction, probation and employee confirmation processes.
• Manage the performance management cycle, including KPI setting, performance reviews, improvement plans and follow‑up actions.
• Identify training needs with the CEO and supervisors and coordinate learning interventions.
• Handle employee relations and engagement activities such as check‑ins, grievance handling and communication initiatives.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, disciplinary procedures and ensure compliance across the organisation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, attendance, leave and performance documentation.
• Prepare HR reports, dashboards and action trackers to provide timely people‑metrics to the CEO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of generalist HR experience, preferably in an SME or construction‑related environment.
• Practical experience in recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
• Experience developing or implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Experience using HR information systems.
