Head of Training (TRI/TRE) – Legacy 600

About the role

Falcon Aerospace Limited (VivaJets) is seeking a senior aviation training leader to head the Legacy 600 training function in Nigeria. The role will own the end‑to‑end training programme, including design, delivery, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and continuous improvement of type, recurrent and checking training for the Legacy 600 fleet.
• Act as Type Rating Instructor (TRI) and Type Rating Examiner (TRE) on the Legacy 600.
• Conduct line operations as Captain on the Legacy 600.
• Manage regulatory liaison with the NCAA, maintain training manuals, ensure instructor standardisation and audit readiness.
• Build and mentor a team of instructors and examiners as the fleet expands.
• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism and technical excellence.

Required profile

• Current TRI and TRE authorisations on the Legacy 600 (EMB‑135BJ).
• ATPL with significant PIC time on the Legacy 600.
• Previous experience as Head of Training, Chief Pilot or senior aviation postholder under ICAO, EASA, FAA or NCAA frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory training requirements, SMS and operator audit processes.
• Strong leadership presence in the simulator, on the line and before regulators and the board.
• Willingness to be based in or travel regularly to Nigeria on a rotation basis.

Required skills

• Legacy 600 Type Rating Instructor (TRI) certification.
• Legacy 600 Type Rating Examiner (TRE) certification.
• Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
• Significant PIC experience on Legacy 600 aircraft.
