Head of Talent and Leadership Development

About the role

The Head of Talent and Leadership Development will lead enterprise‑wide talent management, succession planning and leadership programmes for a fast‑growing Nigerian consumer‑goods group. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for building internal talent pipelines, enhancing leadership capability and driving organisational performance through learning analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive talent management framework, including annual talent reviews, succession planning and high‑potential development pathways.
• Create, deliver and continuously improve leadership development programmes for team leads, managers and senior executives, incorporating coaching, 360‑degree feedback and competency assessments.
• Partner with HR Business Partners to identify capability gaps, support performance management and lead change‑management initiatives that boost productivity and engagement.
• Develop learning analytics dashboards, monitor talent health metrics and provide strategic insights to executive management.
• Oversee the FoodCo Academy, building structured onboarding, technical, functional and leadership curricula, and expanding digital and self‑directed learning options.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Education or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional HR certifications (CIPM, SHRM‑CP/SCP, CIPD, ATD) is a plus.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Leadership Development or Learning & Development, with at least 4–5 years leading enterprise‑wide initiatives in retail, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Proven track record designing leadership programmes, competency frameworks, succession planning processes and learning academies.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and manage capability‑building projects across multiple sites.
