Head of School

About the role

The Head of School will provide strategic academic leadership and oversee all operational aspects of the school. Reporting to the board, you will drive curriculum excellence, student performance and foster a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set and implement the school’s academic vision, curriculum standards and assessment policies.
• Ensure compliance with Lagos State Ministry of Education, WAEC, NECO and IGCSE requirements.
• Monitor teaching quality through observations and evaluations, aiming to improve exam results.
• Recruit, train, appraise and develop teachers and non‑teaching staff.
• Lead staff meetings, professional development sessions and performance reviews.
• Oversee daily operations including timetabling, admissions, safety, facilities and transport.
• Manage the school budget, fee collection, payroll and procurement.
• Maintain student discipline, welfare and safeguarding policies.
• Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and events.
• Develop marketing and admissions strategies to increase enrollment and represent the school to government bodies and partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration or related field (Master’s or PGDE preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in school leadership roles such as Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator or Principal.
• TRCN certification.
• Proven ability in team management, decision‑making and curriculum development.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian curriculum, child safeguarding and school operations.
