About the role
The Head of the Project Management Office (PMO) will be the single point of accountability for project governance, delivery oversight, risk management and reporting across all active projects of a leading real‑estate development company in Nigeria. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this senior leader will establish standards, manage a technical team and provide clear visibility into project performance.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure every project starts with an approved scope, baselined plan and integrated schedule.
- Review and validate project plans submitted by architects, quantity surveyors and project executives before authorisation.
- Design and maintain a project communication framework, defining reporting lines and cadences.
- Maintain a comprehensive risk register, driving timely mitigation and escalation.
- Review contracts to protect organisational interests and clarify obligations.
- Coordinate resource deployment, monitor performance against time, cost and scope baselines, and initiate corrective actions.
- Produce accurate project status reports and a real‑time dashboard for senior leadership.
- Conduct post‑project evaluations, capture lessons learned and continuously improve the knowledge‑management system.
Required profile
- First degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, Architecture, Estate Management or related field.
- Professional project‑management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master or equivalent) required.
- MBA or accounting/financial qualification is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years total experience, with at least 6 years in project management and 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong background in real‑estate, construction or a related industry.
