Head of Finance

About the role

eRecruiter is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Head of Finance for a leading Nigerian power solutions provider with over 1,500 employees and a branch network across West Africa. The company is expanding and needs a finance leader based in Lagos who can run the finance, treasury, statutory, tax, payroll and accounts payable functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of finance, treasury, statutory and tax, payroll, fixed asset management and accounts payable.
• Deliver results on time, within budget and to the highest quality.
• Provide commercial and financial reporting, including category, overhead and balance sheet information, to support planning, control and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax laws through system review, implementation, monitoring and liaison with external advisors.
• Manage the treasury function and bank accounts, adhering to global treasury policy, taking forward cover in time and minimizing currency exposure while maximizing return on investment.
• Liaise with the external audit team at interim and final audits and coordinate the information presented to them.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls, and develop and motivate subordinates.
• Prepare and submit income tax returns, VAT, provisional taxes, STC and other forms required by local revenue authorities.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience; FMCG experience is an advantage.
• Strong track record of financial management and delivery.
• Able to work under continuous pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Exposure to ERP systems, Hyperion and advanced Microsoft Office.
