Head of Corporate Communications

About the role

brokerbloc is a technology-driven platform providing an intelligence layer for African commodities and procurement, covering oil and gas, minerals, agriculture and essential production equipment. It is looking for a Head of Corporate Communications for a full-time, on-site role in Lagos. The role shapes and executes the communications strategy across internal and external channels, keeping messaging aligned with the company's four-step story.

Key responsibilities

• Lead media outreach and draft and review press releases
• Oversee reputation management and guide strategic communications campaigns
• Collaborate with executive leadership, product teams and marketing to develop key narratives and prepare spokespersons
• Manage crisis communications and support stakeholder engagement
• Monitor communications performance, refine messaging based on data and feedback, and build processes for scalable, high-quality communication

Required profile

• Strong experience in corporate and strategic communications
• Leadership in developing communication frameworks and narratives for technology or financial services organizations
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification is an advantage
• Familiarity with African commodities, procurement markets or B2B technology platforms is beneficial

Required skills

• Media relations and press releases, with a track record of managing relationships with journalists and industry publications
• Reputation management, including crisis communication planning and proactive brand protection
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to turn complex ideas into clear messages
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and influencing decisions at senior levels
