Head of Commercial (MEP)

About the role

eRecruiter is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Head of Commercial Department for an engineering and technical services company that executes construction projects and provides Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The role covers commercial operations, contract and tender management, business development, financial analysis and supplier negotiations, with a strong focus on HVAC and MEP contracting services.

Key responsibilities

• Contract and tender management: prepare, review and negotiate contracts, tenders and commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements and client specifications.
• Market research and business development: conduct market research and competitor analysis, build relationships with clients, suppliers and industry stakeholders, and support project pricing and cost estimation.
• Sales and financial analysis: prepare quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions; analyse project costs, revenue forecasts and financial performance; ensure accurate commercial documentation, invoicing and payment tracking.
• Supplier and procurement management: negotiate with suppliers and vendors to optimise costs and service delivery, and monitor procurement and supply chain activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar commercial role.
• At least 3 years of middle or senior management experience within an MEP contracting firm, counted within the 10 years.
• Experience in HVAC and M&E services is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
