Grants Coordinator

About the role

The Grants Coordinator will support Safe Haven Positivity Initiative’s fundraising efforts by managing the full grant lifecycle. This part-time, hybrid position combines on-site collaboration in Marina, Bayelsa with flexible remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify suitable grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mental-health programs.
• Coordinate the development of grant proposals, gathering data, impact narratives, and budget information from program teams.
• Prepare and submit grant applications before deadlines, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
• Maintain accurate grant records, track deadlines, and monitor reporting obligations.
• Assist in budget preparation for proposals and track grant-related financial data.
• Produce progress and final reports for funders, highlighting outcomes and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Strong background in grant administration or program management, preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting.
• Excellent written communication and proposal-writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and keep documentation organized.
• Degree or diploma in social sciences, public administration, psychology, development studies or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel for budgeting and tracking.
• Experience using grant-management or online grant portal platforms.
• Basic budgeting and financial-tracking skills.
