Grants and Fundraising Officer

About the role

The Grants and Fundraising Officer works with the Project Lead team to develop proposals for the organization's activities. The role covers identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, managing donor relationships and ensuring strict compliance with reporting requirements, supporting organizational growth and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect research and pipeline management: proactively identify, track and evaluate potential institutional donors, international development agencies, foundations and corporate sponsors to build a robust funding pipeline.
• Proposal and grant writing: prepare grant proposals, concept notes, pitches and budget narratives with the Project Lead, tailored to donor priorities and submission guidelines.
• Donor relationship and stewardship: cultivate ongoing partnerships with existing and prospective funders through prompt communication, engagement and regular updates on project progress.
• Grant compliance and reporting: coordinate with program and finance teams to track grant performance, follow donor terms and deliver timely, accurate progress and financial reports.
• Interdepartmental collaboration: work with technical, program and finance staff to gather data, turn program impact into compelling narratives and develop realistic proposal budgets.
• Database and record management: maintain up-to-date funding tracking systems, grant calendars, reporting schedules and donor contact records.
