Fleet Management Officer

About the role

Bowmenn is a technology‑enabled logistics company operating its own fleet of trucks across Nigeria. The Fleet Management Officer will oversee day‑to‑day operations, maintenance and driver performance for Bowmenn‑owned vehicles while also supporting the onboarding of third‑party truck owners onto the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure maximum availability and utilization of Bowmenn‑owned trucks.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, servicing and inspections.
• Monitor vehicle condition, identify mechanical issues early and manage breakdown recovery.
• Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, spare parts and maintenance costs.
• Supervise truck drivers, track attendance, conduct, performance and compliance.
• Oversee driver and vehicle inspections, fuel consumption monitoring and investigate anomalies.
• Verify documentation, insurance and regulatory compliance for both owned and third‑party trucks.
• Recruit, verify and onboard third‑party truck owners and maintain an up‑to‑date database.
• Collaborate with the Shippers team to align fleet availability with cargo movement needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet management, trucking or transport operations.
• Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty trucks (tractor heads, semi‑trailers) and common mechanical faults.
• Experience managing commercial truck drivers and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Excellent record‑keeping, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to fleet emergencies.
• Residency in Lagos or willingness to relocate.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience using fleet management systems.
