Factory Production & Accountant

About the role

Monitor and align the Bill of Materials (BOM) with the system to prevent discrepancies and ensure accurate recording of finished goods. Oversee the real‑time production process, identify and address any unorganized production issues, and coordinate with Finance, Warehouse and Production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and align the BOM with the system, preventing discrepancies and ensuring accurate recording of produced finished goods.
• Oversee the real‑time production process, identifying and addressing any unorganized production issues and aligning with Finance, Warehouse and Production sections.
• Investigate and mitigate root causes of waste variances on both the production floor and SAP floor, guided by Finance.
• Reduce monthly variances experienced during stock‑taking on the production floor.
• Align waste records from SAP with actual waste on the production floor.
• Perform detailed cost accounting, tracking and analysing production costs including raw materials, labour and overhead.
• Conduct in‑depth analyses of production costs to identify cost drivers, control expenses and optimise resource utilisation.
• Ensure accurate reporting of work‑in‑progress and finished goods for precise financial statements.
• Advise the production team on the appropriate quantity of materials needed to minimise wastage, in accordance with the BOM.
• Bring congruence between production data, SAP and inventory records and implement cost‑identification, allocation and reduction strategies as directed by Finance.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Accounting or a related Business discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 2‑3 years as a production or cost accountant.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail for precise financial and production data recording.
• Good knowledge of ERP systems, SAP experience considered an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, inventory and finance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address production variances and discrepancies.
