Drilling Engineer

About the role

This role offers an opportunity for planning, designing, and managing the drilling of wells for safe and efficient petroleum operations. The position involves overseeing drilling operations on land or offshore rigs to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and planning drilling operations, including well trajectory, depth, and equipment selection.
• Developing appropriate Well AFE for onshore and offshore projects.
• Supervising drilling crews and managing day‑to‑day operations on land or offshore rigs.
• Monitoring drilling progress, analysing data, and adjusting plans to address equipment failures or geological changes.
• Managing budgets, costs, and resource allocation to optimise efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards while minimising non‑productive time (NPT) and maintaining optimal HSE performance.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Drilling Engineering.
• 6+ years of drilling engineering experience in a reputable exploration/production company, preferably an IOC.
• Proficiency in Landmark (Compass, WellPlan, CasingSeat) or Schlumberger Drilling Office.
• IWCF Level 3 or 4 Well Control certification.
• Experience with HPHT, extended‑reach, or deep‑water drilling is a strong plus.
• JV partnership and PSC operations experience is an added advantage.
