Experienced Maintenance Technician

About the role

O’Spaces Nigeria Limited, a leading building construction firm, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support its Onikan site in Lagos. The role focuses on the upkeep, inspection and repair of diesel and petrol generators as well as other construction equipment to ensure uninterrupted project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel and petrol generators, concrete mixers, batching plants and other construction machinery.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, replacements or adjustments on malfunctioning equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from project and site managers, prioritising tasks based on urgency.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company guidelines during all maintenance work.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and procurement to schedule and supervise external repairs or installations.
• Monitor inventory levels of tools, spare parts and consumables, arranging timely restocking.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a building construction environment.
• Strong practical troubleshooting and repair capabilities for generators and construction equipment.
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and lift heavy objects.

Required skills

• Diagnosing and repairing diesel and petrol generators.
• Operating hand and power tools for equipment maintenance.
• Conducting preventive maintenance programmes.
• Using computer systems to log maintenance records.
