Experienced Associate - Transfer Pricing (Tax)

About the role

EY is looking for an experienced Associate to join its Transfer Pricing team in Lagos, within the Tax service line (International Tax and Transaction Services). The role suits someone with hands-on experience preparing transfer pricing documentation, running benchmarking studies, completing transfer pricing returns and supporting advisory and controversy projects. It offers exposure to complex international tax issues across a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the accurate filing of transfer pricing and Country-by-Country Reporting obligations in line with applicable regulations.
• Help prepare transfer pricing documentation reports, including Master Files and Local Files, and review Country-by-Country Reports against OECD guidelines and local rules.
• Carry out economic and functional analyses to support transfer pricing positions.
• Run benchmarking and comparability studies using databases and research tools.
• Support the development and implementation of transfer pricing policies and strategies for clients.
• Assist in managing transfer pricing audits and controversy matters.
• Work with tax, legal and finance teams to align on transfer pricing matters.
• Stay up to date with changes in transfer pricing regulations, tax laws and industry best practice.
• Contribute to business development, including proposals and client presentations.
• Mentor graduate trainees and interns and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or a related field, with a minimum of second-class (upper division) or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in transfer pricing.
• Strong understanding of the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and local regulations.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
