About the role
The Executive Director – Life Insurance Business will lead the Life Assurance division, reporting directly to the MD/CEO. This senior position is responsible for driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation across the life insurance portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a 3‑to‑5‑year business plan to increase market share.
- Oversee life underwriting, claims administration, and actuarial valuation frameworks.
- Champion data strategies and upgrade IT infrastructure to enhance customer service.
- Expand retail, corporate partnership, and bancassurance distribution channels.
- Ensure compliance with NAICOM guidelines, corporate governance codes, and local laws.
- Manage investment strategies for life funds and the division’s P&L.
Required profile
- Minimum 15 years of experience in insurance, with 5–8 years in a senior executive role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field; MBA or MSc is a plus.
- Fellow or Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
- Must satisfy NAICOM “Fit and Proper” criteria for board‑level appointments.
