Engineering Procurement Lead

About the role

The Engineering Procurement Lead bridges engineering, production and external suppliers, managing strategic sourcing of technical, production, administrative and IT requirements while ensuring GMP compliance, cost efficiency and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical specifications with engineering and production teams and manage the full procurement cycle, including PR, RFQ, negotiation, PO creation and contract award.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify vendors, conduct technical bid assessments, and monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality and service levels.
• Ensure supplier pre‑qualification and compliance with regulatory standards such as SON, NAFDAC, ISO and cGMP, and coordinate periodic audits with QA.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and warranties to optimise total cost of ownership, analyse market trends and identify cost‑saving sourcing alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 6 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG or biotech environments.
• Experience with purchasing engineering and quality equipment, and knowledge of HVAC systems and water‑treatment plants.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle ERP and advanced Excel.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data sheets.
• Understanding of industrial spares, clean‑room requirements and contract negotiation.
