EHSQ & Sustainability Manager

About the role

Sika Nigeria is looking for an EHSQ & Sustainability Manager based in Lagos (Marina). The role ensures compliance with company requirements and local, state and federal laws, leads the EHS management system and sustainability strategy, and drives a safe and sustainable culture across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company requirements and laws such as LASEPA, NESREA, Lockout/Tagout, HazCom, lab standards, OSHA and NFPA.
• Develop and lead the EHS management system strategy and continual improvement initiatives, and review and update policies and procedures.
• Monitor new laws, regulations, industry standards and stakeholder requirements.
• Lead projects and cross-functional EHS teams toward a safer, more sustainable workplace.
• Maintain required records, permits and reports according to company and agency guidelines.
• Manage Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRAs) and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
• Investigate and assess work-related injuries, illnesses and near misses.
• Ensure the Quality Management System meets customer, internal, ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements.
• Audit and report on EHS compliance to all levels of the organization and review applications and procedures against business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Demonstrated experience building or significantly developing an HSE function.
• Experience managing relevant regulatory bodies.
• Experience conducting and managing risk assessments across multi-site operations.

Required skills

• Professional HSE certification, such as NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent.
• Hazard identification and risk assessment.
