Economics Teacher

About the role

The Economics Teacher will join Sound Foundation Schools in Marina, Abuja, delivering engaging micro‑ and macro‑economics lessons to secondary students. This full‑time role focuses on connecting classroom theory with real‑world market trends while fostering critical thinking about financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons in microeconomics and macroeconomics, using real‑world examples and up‑to‑date market data.
• Prepare clear teaching guides and engaging classroom activities.
• Assess student work through tests, quizzes and projects, providing feedback to support improvement.
• Offer additional support such as tutoring, mentorship and guidance on data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead economics‑related clubs and communicate student progress to parents.
• Contribute to academic research or papers where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification: NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) in a relevant subject.
• Less than one year of teaching experience or fresh graduate.
• Strong interest in economics and ability to relate concepts to everyday life.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and curriculum development.
• Effective classroom communication.
• Student assessment and feedback.
• Use of real‑world economic data for teaching.

• Monthly salary between NGN 70,000 and NGN 150,000.
