About the role
The Driver provides reliable and safe transportation services for UNICEF staff and assets in Kano, ensuring compliance with local traffic regulations and UNICEF protocols. The role also includes supporting administrative tasks during non‑driving periods and engaging in self‑directed learning.
Key responsibilities
- Operate UNICEF vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to traffic and security rules.
- Maintain vehicle condition through regular checks and basic maintenance.
- Plan and follow routes using GPS navigation and route‑planning tools.
- Communicate via radio and follow security protocols during travel.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first‑aid or assistance as needed.
- Keep accurate travel logs, vehicle records, and related documentation.
- Support office administrative tasks when not driving.
Required profile
- Secondary education (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s licence.
- Minimum two years of driving experience with an international organization, embassy, or UN system and a clean safety record.
- Fluency in English.
- Professionalism, discretion, and ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.
