Drilling Engineer/Specialist I

About the role

We are seeking a Drilling Engineer/Specialist I to develop and oversee drilling and well completion programs for large‑scale oil and gas projects. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure well plans meet technical, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop drilling and well completion programs based on geological, reservoir and operational data.
• Review offset well data, identify hazards and integrate mitigation measures.
• Prepare well design options, cost estimates and equipment requirements.
• Design wells in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Evaluate technical bids for drilling equipment and services.
• Monitor drilling and completion activities through rig‑site surveillance and engineering assessments.
• Provide technical support for equipment testing, new procedures and operational improvements.
• Support deep‑water drilling activities, including subsea systems, riser analysis and well‑control operations.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate engineering documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in drilling engineering, well planning and drilling operations within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard well design software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of deep‑water drilling operations and subsea systems (advantage).
