Credit Risk & Management Accountant

About the role

Sika Nigeria is hiring a Credit Risk & Management Accountant in Lagos (Marina). The role covers managing customer payments, monitoring accounts and supporting credit control and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer payments and ensure accurate allocation to invoices.
• Monitor customer accounts, follow up on overdue balances and coordinate collection activities to improve cash recovery.
• Administer dunning procedures and maintain effective debt recovery processes.
• Monitor customer credit exposure and support the implementation of credit control policies and procedures.
• Support month-end and year-end financial reporting on receivables and credit management.
• Coordinate periodic inventory cycle counts and reconcile variances.
• Work with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service and others to resolve account and credit issues.
• Identify process improvements that strengthen credit risk management and financial controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in credit control, accounts receivable or financial accounting.
• Knowledge of banking processes, trade finance instruments and credit risk management practices.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
