Credit Operations and Regulatory Reporting Officer

About the role

RMBN is looking for a Credit Operations and Regulatory Reporting Officer to centralize all operational and regulatory responsibilities of the Credit function. The role aims to improve the level of service, compliance, timeliness and quality of credit regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all regulatory credit returns mandated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, including monthly capital adequacy and credit portfolio position reports and monthly Credit Risk Management System (CRMS) submissions, and keep CRMS information updated
• Handle credit bureau returns, including monthly credit portfolio position reports and ongoing client credit position updates
• Prepare FirstRand Group returns for South African Reserve Bank (SARB) reporting, including periodic credit portfolio position reports such as BA returns, and ORM-related returns
• Accurately respond to credit portfolio position requests from Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations and Internal Audit, and to ad-hoc requests from shareholders and regulators
• Support the Credit team in reporting credit portfolios to the Board and Executive Committee, and liaise with stakeholders to keep credit files up to date per CBN guidelines
• Review Credit Facility agreements so that all conditions precedent to drawdown are met before disbursement, and monitor collateral, covenants and credit documentation
• Carry out credit post-analyses and perform ad-hoc credit information requests

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
• At least seven years of relevant experience in a Nigerian bank or financial institution
• Prior credit experience, preferably regulatory reporting, credit administration and operations, is an added advantage
• Good understanding of the Nigerian banking industry and its regulatory requirements

• Self-starter, detail-oriented, organized and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
