Senior Finance Analyst

About the role

Helium Health, a full-service healthtech company founded in 2016 that digitizes healthcare across Africa, is looking for a Senior Finance Analyst. The role works closely with the Head of Finance and covers accounting for transactions and payments, monthly financial statements, month-end close, budget monitoring and support for other operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse monthly and quarterly management reports, evaluate business risks per business unit and build financial models for investments and lending facilities
• Complete financial reports, lead month-end close, run monthly forecasts and maintain annual and monthly budgets
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly and complete tax returns and statutory compliance requirements
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, and administer the contract management tracking tool with external partners
• Support strategic planning, take part in cross-functional strategy work and annual budgeting and planning
• Research competitors and growth opportunities, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
• Answer queries on accounting and cost management tools, review and upload weekly payments for approval, and carry out other tasks assigned by the Head of Finance

Required profile

• 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience
• First degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification is an added advantage
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial issues clearly to stakeholders
• Digital savviness and strong use of cloud-based technologies

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Proven analytical and modelling skills
• Ability to challenge assumptions in detailed financial forecasts
