Portfolio Manager

About the role

Comercio Partners Asset Management, part of Comercio Partners Limited, is hiring a Portfolio Manager in Lagos, Nigeria, reporting to the Head of Asset Management. The role develops and manages investment strategies that deliver competitive risk-adjusted returns in line with clients' objectives, risk appetite, liquidity needs and mandates, while contributing to client retention, AUM growth and the commercial performance of the asset management business.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run portfolio strategies, set asset allocation across equities, fixed income, money market and alternatives, monitor performance against benchmarks and rebalance periodically.
• Oversee trade execution with the dealing desk and identify ways to improve returns, liquidity and diversification.
• Carry out macroeconomic, sectoral, asset-class and issuer research, develop investment theses and asset allocation recommendations for the Investment Committee.
• Monitor exposures to market, credit, liquidity, concentration and interest rate risks, ensure compliance with SEC regulations and internal policies, and prepare risk reports.
• Engage with clients, present performance reports and market views, and work with Relationship Management and Business Development to grow AUM.
• Present to the Investment Committee and help design and launch investment products.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, investment research, asset management or investment advisory, preferably in a regulated institution.
• Demonstrable experience managing institutional and high-net-worth client portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and global macroeconomic environment and investment instruments.
• CFA or another recognised investment qualification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Financial modelling, valuation, performance attribution and scenario analysis.
• Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client engagement skills.
