Country Manager & Chief Commercial Officer (Nigeria)

About the role

A client of the recruiter is looking for a commercially driven Country Manager & Chief Commercial Officer to lead its Nigerian operations in the telecommunications, digital infrastructure and enterprise ICT space. The role reports to the Group CEO and covers business strategy, commercial growth, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships and operational leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the business strategy for Nigeria, including annual plans, commercial strategies and market expansion
• Own revenue and profitability targets, pricing and go-to-market strategies, and lead high-value negotiations
• Drive enterprise sales across connectivity, ISP, managed network, NOC, cloud, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure services
• Build and manage executive relationships with MNOs, ISPs, data centre operators, government agencies, financial institutions, oil and gas companies and international investors
• Develop and maintain key customer relationships, improve retention and drive cross-selling
• Manage the commercial budget, forecast sales, control costs and report on gross margin and profitability
• Recruit, develop and mentor commercial teams, and ensure compliance with telecom regulations and corporate governance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, IT or economics-related field; MBA or master's highly preferred
• Minimum 17 years of progressive commercial leadership experience
• Proven track record of multimillion-naira enterprise sales and closing high-value contracts
• Existing executive relationships across Nigeria's telecom and technology ecosystem
