Contract Civil Engineer – PV Farm Site Planning (Lagos)

About the role

This contract position is based on‑site in Lagos and focuses on the planning, design and implementation of civil engineering works for solar PV mini‑grid projects. The Civil Engineer will work closely with senior management to identify and develop suitable sites for photovoltaic farms, ensuring compliance with Nigerian standards and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to identify and assess locations for PV farms, including field visits to gather soil data and load‑bearing information.
• Develop detailed civil and structural designs for site infrastructure such as security fencing, inverter bays, control units and foundations for PV module structures.
• Produce technical drawings, layout sketches and foundation designs using industry‑standard software.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure accurate data collection and successful implementation of designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in civil and structural design for energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Relevant professional certification or registration (or progress toward it) is an advantage.
• Must reside in Lagos and be willing to travel to remote project sites.
