Compliance Manager

About the role

The Compliance Manager will act as the primary liaison with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), and other regulatory bodies. You will ensure the company adheres to IMTO frameworks, CBN regulations, and cross‑border payment requirements while embedding compliance into business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage communications and relationships with CBN, NFIU, and other regulators.
• Develop, implement, and monitor AML/CFT policies and controls.
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports on time.
• Lead internal compliance reviews, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with product, operations, legal, and other teams to integrate compliance requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on operational and strategic impacts.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of professional compliance experience, preferably in fintech, cross‑border payments, remittance, or banking.
• Strong knowledge of CBN regulatory frameworks, IMTO requirements, and Nigerian AML/CFT regulations.
• Proven experience engaging directly with regulators, including reporting, audits, and inquiries.
• Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities.
• Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
