Business Development Manager

About the role

The African Institute for Artificial Intelligence LBG is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth, secure partnerships, and generate revenue in line with its mission. You will work across education, AI‑related products, and fundraising initiatives to expand the institute’s impact.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business, partnership, sponsorship, donor, and revenue opportunities.
• Visit schools to introduce and promote Pedagic’s solutions to leaders and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, sponsors, funders, and other external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement business development strategies focused on organizational growth and financial sustainability.
• Lead outreach, pitch meetings, follow‑up communication, and engagement with prospective partners.
• Prepare proposals, concept notes, partnership decks, funding applications, and other business development materials.
• Drive revenue growth by increasing sales of services, programmes, memberships, and affiliated products.
• Conduct market and ecosystem research to identify trends, partnership opportunities, and areas for innovation.
• Track leads, opportunities, activities, and outcomes, providing regular progress reports and forecasts.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align business development efforts with programmatic and strategic goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, sales, or external relations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and presentation development.
• Excellent relationship‑building, negotiation, coordination, and organizational abilities.
